I still need an alignment. I still have SUPER bad toe-out, which was making my front wheels wear pretty quickly... I do not want to be going through tires, considering how expensive they are.
LIAR. You do not care as much about tires as you’re pretending to.

I wonder how much slower the car is due to the ungodly huge tires. Based on his other videos he is running a mostly stock Miata engine, albeit from a ‘95 even though the car is a ‘91, but he isn’t making that much power.

*Wants to protect $25 scale and keep it clean, so puts a towel over it while weighing brand new wheel/tire*
*Indiscriminately hacks away at Miata wheelwell with air-powered saws to fit $2000 worth of wheel and tire*

Not to mention he feels the need to protect his bathroom scale with a towel, but just hacks away with air-saws at the wheel wells on his car. It’s high comedy.

This car will wear its tires out by sitting still.
I can’t believe nobody has designed a “cambertire” for these setups yet. The inner tread area would have a hard all-season compound for wear but with a rain-friendly tread pattern. The central and outer tread areas would be purely decorative.
If you’re going to set your car up to flout all performance principles, might as well make it more practical and durable.

I do NOT know where to begin.....
About 15 seconds in......looks like they’ve hacked up some rather beefy front reinforcement/framework in the wheel well. Looks SAAAAAFE....
52 pound front wheels/tires and 60 pound rear wheels/tires on a car that assuredly had stockers that weighed around 25 if I had to wager....
Holes straight through to the trunk and seating compartments..... I can hope that this will be fixed, but a quick glance through some of the other videos he has posted, I have my doubts.
I’ve owned a couple of beaters over the years and I’ve done my fair share of modding, but this......THIS.......is DEMOLITION.....
As a parent of 2 daughters, I’m resigned to the fact that my future will involve some form of pubescent gentleman caller arriving to pick up one of them and take them on a date. That in and of itself is bad enough. If said person were to arrive in this there is NO CHANCE that she would be allowed to go in said vehicle. One would have a better chance of smoldering the fires of hell with only a snowball.
Also; early in the vid I notice a woman whom I can surmise is the kid’s mother doing laundry in the garage. A garage that appears s if there’s plenty of room for a DECENT car. Aint no way my kid is taking over my garage for this f$ckery. Or driveway for THAT matter.....

So he’s got over 220 pounds worth of wheels and tires on there. That thing is going to be an absolute dog. And why would he want tires that wide with all the damn camber? He’s only going to be using a third of the actual tire! I don’t get it.

I never understood the appeal of putting $3500 of wheels and tires on a $1000(and I’m being generous here) car.
I have nothing against what they are doing (your money, your problem). Except at least do it to a car that is worth putting money in it. Regardless if I agree with the outcome.
That miata was a lemons racer at best.
EDIT: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON’T TOUCH THAT CRX IN THE BACKGROUND.

I appreciate your point of view, but I’m of the opposite opinion.
What’s the point of spending $10k on a ‘more worthwhile car’ to cut up when you can achieve your goal with a cheap miata?
